Spring is here and the back of winter has been broken. Prepare your yard for optimum growth potential by taking these basic maintenance steps.
1. Prune back any grasses that have browned out.
2. Cut back any perennials that have died back.
3. Prune you trees. You only need to prune out dead, crossing branches, and perhaps do some thinning. You do NOT need to prune your crape myrtles any more than your other trees.
4. Fertilize all your trees and shrubs at the end of February or in the beginning of March.
5. If Japanese Beetles tend to be a problem in your area and you did not do it in February, now is the time to treat your vulnerable trees and plants with Merit Feed and Protect. We sell this fantastic product in both liquid and granular form. The best part of this product is that you need only apply it once a year!
These are the basics. If you have questions or concerns give us a call.
